SPAM® Chopsuey

Confucius once said: "You're only as good as your last Chop Suey. So make yourself extra good. Toss in some SPAM® Lite." Okay, maybe we paraphrased a little, but we reckon that wiser words have never been spoken.


  • ½ can SPAM® Lite, slice then cut into strips (about 0.5cm)
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 small carrot, sliced oblique
  • 2 cups cabbage, chopped
  • ½ cup button mushrooms, halved
  • ½ cup baby corn, halved
  • ¼ cup sliced capsicums
  • ¼ cup oyster sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Splash of water if dry (optional depending on quality of vegetables)
  • Cornstarch slurry to thicken sauce (optional)


  1. Heat oil in pan, sauté garlic and onion.
  2. Add SPAM® Lite strips and sauté for another minute.
  3. Add broccoli and carrots, cook for a minute.
  4. Add cabbage; and cook for another minute.
  5. Add the rest of the ingredients and season with oyster sauce.
  6. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
